Forged Aluminum JL8 Calipers - Pair with Red Powdercoat Finish & REKUDO Logo - Rear REKUDO, REKUDO,The 4-wheel disc brake upgrade (Corvette style 4-piston calipers for both front and rear) was offered on the 1968 Camaro as a "Heavy Duty Service" package sold through the parts counter at Chevrolet car dealers. In 1969, the 4-piston disc brakes could be ordered as a Regular Production Option (RPO) JL8 package on production vehicles. These high-end brakes were made available to support racing programs like the Sports Car Club of America® (SCCA), and Trans-Am® road racing series. This unique brake option is very rare and was only sold on about 200 production vehicles. REKUDO, REKUDO,The complete JL8 brake system is now available again with upgraded components like forged aluminum calipers, premium rotors, dust shields, brake hoses, spindles, hubs, and other parts. There are several options for caliper finish (with and without the REKUDO logo). This premium brake system can be used with the complete REKUDO suspension system for the 1970-1981 Camaro / Firebird. - Caliper material - forged aluminum 7075 aircraft grade
- Factory style rubber caliper piston dust seals to keep out road debris
- Bleeder screws with caps – keeps bleeders clean
- Uses 3rd generation Corvette (C3) style brake pads – easy to service - available in a wide range of pad compounds
- Calipers work with Rekudo front spindles, front hubs, rear caliper brackets, dust shields & rotors
- Calipers are 50% lighter than stock (stock Cast Iron 12.5 lbs vs. Rekudo Forged AL 6.25 lbs)
- Caliper finish options with or without REKUDO logo – red & black powdercoat or raw forged aluminum
- Calipers designed with finite element analysis – for light weight and strength
- Piston sizes optimized to maintain proper brake bias front to rear
- 7/16” banjo bolt style brake hose attachment (Earls 977504ERL) - available separately for plumbing flexibility in custom applications
